David Harwood is currently chairman of the Goat Veterinary Society, and an Honorary veterinary surgeon to the British Goat Society, he is also a past president of BCVA. He worked for 30 years as a veterinary investigation officer for APHA and its fore-runners, specialising in the investigation of health and welfare issues (particularly in ruminants). He is currently a visiting reader in veterinary field pathology at the University of Surrey. He has a comprehensive publication record, and is the author of “Goat Health and Welfare: A Veterinary Guide” aimed predominantly at goat keepers. His autobiography “Rural Tranquillity to National Crisis – a Farm Vets Story,” has also been published.
